A MOTHER’S DAY-SPECIAL RIDE WITH THE NOIDA CYCLING CLUB
This Sunday’s (May 8) ride with the Noida Cycling Club (NCC) was a special affair since it also coincided with Mother’s Day. The NCC organised a special ride on the occasion, topping it up with a celebration of Athletics Day, which was the day before. The round trip began and ended at Noida’s Great India Place with a halt at Lodhi Art District and a pit stop for breakfast at the Mysore Cafe near the legendary India Gate monument in the heart of Delhi.
The riders gathered at the Great India Place- the customary starting point- at 5:30 am. Mothers who participated in the remarkable ride were honoured. Photographs and videos of the occasion went viral in no time, enticing others to participate in the expedition. The bandwagon then progressed towards the iconic Noida Gate Monument that separates Noida from Delhi and was joined by riders at this point. The group then proceeded towards the Lodhi Art District with the cool breeze and the peaceful surroundings providing the perfect backdrop to the riders.
If the ride weren’t exciting enough for the riders, the breakfast destination- the Mysore café – was equally tempting. The cafe was started by a well-known cycling club- the Rising Riders Cycling Club.
The NCC crew urged the riders to take proper precautions on the chosen route and pay close attention to all safety measures.
The artistic street art at the Lodhi Art District located in New Delhi was stunning. Choosing a single art form for a shot was tricky. Riders highlighted some insightful comments of riding with NCC and also wished all the mothers out there a happy Mother’s Day.
After spending some memorable moments at the Lodhi Art District, it was time for breakfast at the famed Mysore cafe. The athletes reached the Mysore cafe around 7:00 am. The athletes mixed around with the runners even as they enjoyed the flavour of South Indian dishes.
Everyone had a wonderful time and thanked the NCC crew for organising a magnificent trip.
It was finally time to get back on the saddle and ride home. The cyclists hopped onto their bikes and pedalled back to their respective destinations. They praised the NCC staff for organising such a beautiful ride and expressed complete support and interest in the forthcoming events.
The cyclists went their separate ways after reaching the Akshardham flyover loop.
A female rider stated, “I have been riding with NCC for a month now. The NCC has helped me realise my goal. Attending today’s ride and meeting fellow cyclists was terrific and amazing. The NCC riders made me feel honoured and pleased to be a mother. Thank you very much, Noida Cycling Club.”
