April 5 seemed to be ‘athletes’ day out’ in Noida- on the one hand, fitness enthusiasts and sportspersons flocked to the Noida Grand Marathon, on the other, Noida’s famous cycling club- the Noida Cycling Club (NCC) organised a Beginners’-special ride for cyclists.

After discovering their passion for cycling, many cyclists discovered that the Noida Cycling Club (NCC) was organising a ride for freshers like them. Many enthusiastic riders actively participated in the NCC’s Sunday ride in pursuit of a newer and healthier lifestyle.

The starting point was Noida’s Great India Place Mall while Noida’s famed business hub, the Advant IT Park, was the chosen destination, incidentally very near to the location of the marathon. 

The destination and supper point was only 26 km apart, which proved favourable for the beginners.

Determination was written all over the riders’ faces as they circled around and photographed their first ride. The veterans assisted by guiding and outlining the riding rules.

The group of cyclists embarked on their journey at 6:30 pm. The Noida Cycling Club admins showed leadership and led the group along the predetermined route, with the crew ensuring breaks in between to ensure that no one got fatigued. 

Since the route was short, the horde of riders arrived at the business hub within 45 minutes, drenched in sweat as they hunted for food to quench their hunger. Unfortunately, they arrived too early, and nothing was open at the time. An enterprising member of the group chanced upon a 24×7 store. Raring to eat, the cyclists parked their bikes and rushed to the joint to grab a bite.

The area was quiet, but the riders’ chatter enlivened the atmosphere. They drank a variety of beverages, enjoying every bit of their meal.

After some more rounds of conversation and several fantastic photos, it was time for the riders to finish the journey and return home. 

Because this was a shorter journey, the NCC admins and a few of the riders opted for an extended ride. The rest of the squad returned to GIP after leaving the refreshment area. The majority of the riders returned home because their residences were adjacent to the back path, while some ended their rides at GIP. The crew and admins applauded them and encouraged them to join for future rides, to which they reacted positively.

The rest of the group, meanwhile, took off on a long journey to  Delhi’s iconic Bengali Sweet Shop situated in Connaught Place, the heart of the capital.

After treating themselves to some mouthwatering delicacies, the riders rode back to their destination in record time. With the sun out in full steam, they hydrated themselves with cold beverages.

After a fantastic day, the riders decided to head home. Goodbyes were exchanged at the Akshardham loop before they departed for their respective destinations.
